About this privacy policy

SJ’s Rebarkable Dog Grooming respects your privacy and is committed to being clear about how we use personal information. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who we may share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have.

Who is responsible for your information?

For the purposes of UK data protection law, the controller is the owner of SJ’s Rebarkable Dog Grooming, Old Catton, Norwich. You can contact us about privacy or your personal information at sjsrebarkable@gmail.com or on 07706 090593.

What personal information we collect

When you contact us we receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, telephone number if you include it, and the details in your enquiry and any later correspondence.

Where it is relevant to the grooming you ask for, we may also collect information about your dog, such as their name, breed, age, coat and grooming needs, and anything you choose to tell us about their health, behaviour or temperament. Information about a dog is not normally personal data in itself, but it may form part of a record that identifies you as the owner.

How we collect it

We receive information directly from you when you email us, telephone us, use the enquiry form on our contact page, or otherwise deal with us. That enquiry form is provided by PawSuite from its own web address, so the details you type into it are sent to PawSuite rather than stored on this website, and Sarah then receives your enquiry so she can reply.

Why we use it and our lawful bases

Enquiries. We use the information you send to reply to you and to discuss the grooming you are interested in. The lawful basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Providing grooming and managing appointments. We use customer and appointment information to provide agreed grooming, arrange appointments and communicate with you about them. The lawful basis is performance of a contract.

Legal requirements. We may use information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation, or to establish or defend legal claims.

We do not use your information for marketing.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your information. Emails you send us are received through Google’s Gmail service. Enquiries submitted through the form on our contact page are received through PawSuite. The map embedded in the footer of this website is provided by Google Maps; when it loads, Google receives your IP address and may use its own cookies — see our Cookie Policy. We may also disclose information where required by law or in connection with legal claims.

International transfers

Some of our suppliers, such as Google, may process personal information outside the UK. Where this happens, UK data protection law requires an appropriate safeguard or other lawful transfer mechanism to be in place.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected for, and to meet legal, accounting, tax, insurance or dispute resolution requirements.

How we protect information

We use appropriate measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, to correct it, to erase it, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format. Not every right applies in every situation. To exercise a right, email us at sjsrebarkable@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

Please contact us first if you have concerns so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
